- 15.00 GBP minimum per building per month
How the count works
On the first of each month Doorcom counts the flats in each building whose status is claimed, which means at least one resident has signed up for it. That number times 1.50 GBP is the month's charge, or the 15.00 GBP minimum if that is higher. Disabled and empty flats cost nothing.
The count is shown in the panel under Billing, with a history of twelve months and a CSV you can keep.
Worked examples
| Building | Flats claimed | Sum | Per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24 flats | 24 | 24 x 1.50 GBP | 36.00 GBP |
| 24 flats | 8 | 8 x 1.50 is under the minimum | 15.00 GBP |
| 93 flats | 93 | 93 x 1.50 GBP | 139.50 GBP |
| 93 flats | 60 | 60 x 1.50 GBP | 90.00 GBP |
A 24-flat building with every flat signed up is 36.00 GBP a month. The same building with eight flats signed up would come to 12.00 GBP, so the 15.00 GBP minimum applies. A 93-flat building with everyone signed up is 139.50 GBP a month.
Paying
Trial until the Direct Debit is set up
A new account runs as a trial until the Direct Debit mandate is active. Nothing is charged for the trial period.
Direct Debit through QuickFile, coming
Direct Debit through QuickFile is coming; until then we invoice you. Buildings that prefer an annual invoice can have one.
Boards: where a building has no Access Controller, the boards that release the lock are a one-off purchase at the Access Controller price. Buildings already on Access Controller can have Doorcom bundled into their Building tier.
Compared with a wired video entry system
These are general statements about wired systems as a category, not about any particular make.
| Wired video entry | Doorcom | |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware at the door | A panel, a camera, cabling to every flat, a handset or screen in each flat | A poster. The lock is released by an Access Controller board |
| Installation | Typically thousands of pounds, with cabling through the building and time in every flat | Print the poster, add the flats, hand out claim cards |
| Ongoing cost | Usually a maintenance contract, and call-outs when a handset or the panel fails | 1.50 GBP per claimed flat per month, calls included |
| Where the resident answers | At the handset in the flat | Wherever they are: on Telegram with a photo, or on their own phone |
| When a flat changes hands | Handset and directory label to update | Move the old resident out, give the new one a claim card |
| Vandalism and weather | The panel and camera are on the outside wall | A poster behind glass or in a frame. Reprint it if it is damaged; rotate the code if needed |
| Reporting problems, trades, documents, notices | Separate systems, if any | Included |
